My favorite day of the year. Have a few drinks...participate in some ritual sin...plead with the sun to come back. And a bonfire. There has to be a bonfire. If everything is done properly, tomorrow will be a little longer. If I mess this up the sun will go away...forever. If that happens at least global warming will no longer be a concern.

What Did YOU Do At A Typical Witness "Get-Together"?

The congregation I grew up in was actually pretty social. In the winter there were sledding/skating/snowmobiling get togethers. The bonfires at those get togethers were fun. Bowling get togethers were common also. Every summer there was at least one congregation picnic with a softball game. We also had hayrides and barn dances. I do remember a prayer being said before eating, but no kingdom song singing or bible games. I don't remember a lot of heavy drinking. Not long before that congregation folded (due to declining population in the area), the socializing pretty much evaporated. I remember an elder making a comment about it from the platform. To paraphrase, he said, "What happened to those parties we enjoyed together? A congregation doesn't have to be all about service." A rather amazing thing to hear from the platform during an elders impromptu local needs talk. Growing up in the sticks did have advantages.

Could be a lot of different animals - raccoons, bears, cats, dogs, etc. A couple of years ago people living in the rural areas around here were being plauged by identity thieves raiding the trash cans. Whatever or whoever is digging through your trash, shred sensitive garbage and secure the lids. If you are really curious about who or what is getting into your garbage, buy one of those game cameras and get some photos. Any sporting goods store will carry them. Heres a link to Cabela's:

toronto scientists cure disease in mice.
tom blackwellnational postfriday, december 15, 2006in a discovery that has stunned even those behind it, scientists at a toronto hospital say they have proof the body's nervous system helps trigger diabetes, opening the door to a potential near-cure of the disease that affects millions of canadians.. diabetic mice became healthy virtually overnight after researchers injected a substance to counteract the effect of malfunctioning pain neurons in the pancreas.. "i couldn't believe it," said dr. michael salter, a pain expert at the hospital for sick children and one of the scientists.

I printed this article earlier today. I have a physical next week and I want my doc to read it. If the researchers are looking for volunteers for human trials, sign me up.

I-75 London Kentucky-pick up the mags
by Junction-Guy inif you ever travel i-75 through london kentucky, stop off at the shell station at exit 38. on the back side of the building beside the payphones there is a brochure rack for truckers, there are always watchtowers and awakes laying around.
i hit the jackpot on saturday when i was traveling north to dayton, i found a total of 8 different watchtower and awakes, i promptly removed them all.
this has been a tradition for me for the past few years.

You could have a lot of fun with this. Are there any other religious magazines in the rack? The only one I can think of is Guideposts but there must be more. If there are maybe you can put a few in the empty space where the watchtowers were. Imagine how the witness who is dropping off the watchtowers will feel when they see that their Satan inspired competition is trying to take over the rack. They might even feel persecuted by the Devil himself.
Other board members have posted brochures they have created on this site and they probably wouldn't mind if you printed a few off. Maybe you can create your own. I wouldn't replace the watchtowers with the new brochures. I'd stick them inside the magazines. Make sure you take a few off the rack first because whoever is dropping them off is probably keeping count. Say they left a dozen copies and came back to see three left. At first they would be pleased that 9 people took the "food" but when they notice your brochure tucked inside they'll be horrified knowing that 9 poor souls have been exposed to apostacy. If you happen to know a name of a witness in the London, KY area you could incorporate that name into your brochure. For example, if the witness' name is John T. Smith you could place at the bottom of your brochure something like "Printed by John T. Smith Outreach, London, KY" or "Printed by JTS Ministries." Make sure that the name really stands out. Use a bigger, bold font in a different color so whoever is dropping off the mags can't help but notice the name before they throw your brochures out. How long would it take for the congregation to start a witch hunt once the rumor gets out that Brother Smith is printing apostate literature?
Enjoy yourself.

by 5go ini am begining to think it is more when, than if now.
i think if it isn't over the removal of the bush.
then those 30% of people that never wanted him to leave will try to either force thier neo-conservative agenda (facist borderline nazi) or suceed the union (again it's mainly the same people in those idiot southern states that want him to stay)(by the way yes i'm in one of them and yes they are idiots and so am i).

There might be war in the US someday but it won't be about anything mentioned so far. The war will be over one resource - water. Wars have been fought over water many times in the past and there is no reason not to believe it won't happen again. I live in a water rich part of the country. One subject that will get people in this region very angry is any mention of diverting Great Lakes water to the parched south and southwest. Differences over politics, religion, gender, and race are quickly forgotten if the topic is broached and common ground is instantly found. I would guess that in water poor parts of the nation people find common ground just as fast. And there you have it. Two large groups with opposing points of view about the allocation of a required resource. Its just a matter of time.
